Outcomes

BASIS 2 NW5 Project Outcome 1 – Increased Influence

This outcome will be achieved by:

  • Mapping existing representation to prioritise districts.
  • Organising Stakeholder Events to engage the BME VCS and statutory partners to identify gaps and barriers and ways of overcoming these.
  • Organising workshops, deliver training and facilitate strategic partnerships to address these barriers in those districts most in need.
  • Encouraging and support BME VCS representation.
  • On a regional and national level, the project will engage with the regional network
  • Establishing a Greater Manchester BME Network to increase influence at the emerging city-region, share good practice and promote collaboration.

BASIS 2 NW5 Project Outcome 2 – Organisational Improvement

This outcome will be achieved by:

  • An ‘Organisational Improvement’ event to identify organisations with the most likelihood of success.
  • Completing an analysis of the needs of each organisation.
  • Planning of support for each organisation to develop their capacity and readiness for contracting.
  • Linking each organisation to a suitable mentor who will be invited from the VCS or private sector to provide leadership, relevant expertise and valuable experience.
  • Levering in additional resources to support the implementation of the programme where required.
  • Raising awareness among Commissioners.

BASIS 2 NW5 Project Outcome 3 – More Confidence

This outcome will be achieved by the project developing and delivering a training programme with 6 courses, designed to address identified priorities and gaps. (For more information on our Training see here.)

BASIS 2 NW5 Project Outcome 4 – More Knowledge

This outcome will be achieved by:

  • Developing an accessible website containing a range of signposting links to support available and online resources.
  • Producing a quarterly Newsletter distributed to BME VCS across Greater Manchester.
  • Organising a range of multi-agency Road Shows in local districts to raise the profile of the support available.
  • Offering one-to-one support to individual groups to become more involved and benefit from the developing infrastructure.
  • Supporting local infrastructure providers to enable them to be more accessible to the BME VCS.
