The topics of the presentations and workshops are relevant to service providers in North and East Manchester who work with and support new arrival communities as well as to those delivering services in other areas of Manchester and wider.
Speakers:-
Denise McDowell will be giving an update on the work of the Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit (GMIAU)
Mick Sheldon from Inside Track Employment (CIC) will be discussing the social enterprise and co-operative opportunities available to new arrival communities
Naomi Davies will be giving an update on the work of ZEST - the Healthy Living Network in North and East Manchester
Workshops:
There will be a choice of two workshops to attend
Anthony Kollie from the British Red Cross will be leading a workshop discussing the issues and challenges facing new arrivals from the male perspective and the work of the BRC Mens Group
John Butler from Manchester Alliance for Community Care will be discussing the research and the findings from a community engagement project that trained volunteers to interview their communities regarding mental health and employment provision in North Manchester
